The Winona ISD Board of Trustees reorganized its leadership at a regular meeting on June 16, 2025, with Mark Wintters elected board president. The meeting began at 6:00 PM in the Winona High School Library.
Wintters was nominated as president by Aaron Wilson and seconded by Scott Jones; Dexter Jones opposed the nomination and Wintters was elected by majority vote. Scott Jones was then nominated and elected vice president (nominated by Diane Newman; seconded by Dexter Jones) by a unanimous vote. Connie Gibbs was nominated and elected secretary (motion by Dexter Jones; second by Aaron Wilson) with a unanimous vote.
The reorganization followed standard board procedure and was recorded on the meeting agenda. The board proceeded to other agenda items after the officer elections, including a public comment on high school GPA and certification of a recent board election.
