Union County commissioners on Aug. 4 approved a plan to relocate the county Treasurer, Register of Deeds and Auditor offices to the Turner Building beginning Aug. 12, 2026. County staff said the three offices will be closed for the duration of the move and that closure dates will be publicly posted; the remainder of courthouse services will stay open during the work.
County staff and contractor Mollet identified the move as part of ongoing courthouse construction planning and told the board that the transition is scheduled to begin Aug. 12. The minutes note this as an operational change rather than a formal procurement or budget action. No specific closure dates beyond the Aug. 12 start were listed in the minutes, and the board did not vote on funding for the move at this meeting.
