Board President Rosemarie Rosati told trustees the board has been coordinating with the Borough human resources and the Borough civil service representative to post the library director vacancy in the New Jersey Civil Service System. Rosati said the posting process could take months but that the borough indicated the library can make a provisional hire so a successor can receive training before the current director departs.
Library Director Heidi Kaiven is scheduled to leave at the end of June; trustees discussed advertising the vacancy through LibraryLinkNJ and the League of Municipalities and updating an online job ad with input from the borough civil service representative. The board emphasized that provisional appointment procedures will be followed while awaiting formal civil service posting.
