Superintendent Dr. Bonewald used his June 16 report to recognize staff and student accomplishments across the district. He named Kris Vannoy, a Wimberley High School counselor, as May Texan of the Month for contributions to students and staff. Dr. Bonewald also congratulated the Wimberley Texans baseball team on winning a state championship and noted the district won the 4A UIL Lone Star Cup—its first Lone Star Cup in 25 years—citing contributions from multiple UIL groups and competitions.
Dr. Bonewald additionally reported that summer camps were underway with strong participation and that the band percussion program had notable success with increased student advancement. He briefly reviewed legislative items from the 89th session relevant to public education and thanked staff and coaches for their roles in the achievements.
