Sunbury wins $1 million ODOT safety grant; master transportation plan funding sought

Staff said ODOT typically awards the funds in 2030 but agreed to accelerate $1,000,000 to 2028 to align with the city's construction timeline.
Staff also said the city resubmitted an application for technical assistance to help create a master transportation plan estimated at about $150,000; the request sought $100,000 from the program with a $50,000 local contribution. Staff said they would learn whether that request was successful in October and that additional grant applications (including urban paving funding) are being pursued to cover the project's estimated costs.
