The Polk County Board of Equalization voted July 14 to approve updated property valuations for assessment year 2026 following a presentation by Assessor Krance. A motion to "approve the updated values for all of the properties listed on the report as presented by Assessor Krance" was made by Boruch, seconded by Chairman Jerry Westring, and passed by roll call: Boruch, aye; Westring, aye; Boss, absent. Valuation change notices will be mailed to the affected property owners.
The approvals followed the county’s submission of its abstract to the Property Tax Administrator, after which Assessor Krance presented a list of properties determined to be overvalued, undervalued or omitted. The board also approved minutes of its July 7, 2026 meeting at the start of the session. Action on filed protests related to the valuations was scheduled for the board’s July 21 meeting.
