The Polk County Board of Equalization voted July 7 to approve updated assessment values identified after Polk County’s abstract was submitted and to accept three tax list corrections. Assessor Krance presented the list of properties for assessment year 2026 and explained the recommended adjustments; a motion to approve the updated values passed on a roll-call vote.
Board member Boss (first name not specified in the minutes) moved to approve the updated valuations as presented; Boruch (first name not specified) seconded and the roll call was recorded as Boss, aye; Boruch, aye; Chairman Jerry Westring, aye. The Board also approved Tax List Corrections No. 1034, 1035 and 1036—corrections to personal property tax returns filed for tax years 2023, 2024 and 2025—on a motion from Boruch and a second from Boss with the same unanimous roll call.
The Board directed that valuation change notices be sent to affected property owners. Minutes from the June 23, 2026 meeting were read and approved at the start of the session, and the meeting record notes that a current copy of the Open Meetings Act was posted in the room.
Next steps: affected owners will receive mailed valuation-change notices and the Assessor’s office will proceed with the administrative updates recorded by the Board during the meeting.
