Winona workforce board reports ransomware recovery, warns of state and federal funding pressure

"We are making progress since our ransomware attack," said Chris Meyer, one of the staff members reporting to the board. He and Greg Olson said they are "very concerned with the cost cuts at the state and federal level" and that withheld Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements could "be making an impact." The staff said they are reviewing options to maintain services as revenues shift.
Board members asked about potential service impacts and any contingency plans. The staff noted that decisions may be required as funding reductions take effect, but did not identify specific program cuts at the meeting. The report was presented as part of routine board member updates.
