Board adopts Option B for 2026–27 school calendar

School Leadership and Improvement directors Craig Stauffer and Shauna Jensen presented survey results comparing calendar Options A and B. On a motion by Karyn Winder, seconded by Kris Nguyen, the board adopted Option B as the 2026–27 calendar.
Julie Jackson said she supported the vote but noted community concerns in Olympus and said she would reach out to residents: "she feels inclined to speak to the Olympus community and tell them she is sorry they were out voted. She invited community members to email her if the have frustrations about the calendar." President Nicole McDermott said some community councils appreciated that the first semester would end before winter break.
