Commission hears update on 1.2 million-square-foot RJW Logistics building at Carys North

Staff reported that the subdivision was approved and that RJW Logistics is erecting precast panels and preparing to begin steel work for a 1,200,000-square-foot logistics center at Orchard and Caterpillar. "So that is the Carys North site... That's a 1,200,000 square foot, logistics center," staff said, describing the project as a continuation of the Rivago development where the south lot is already in use and the north lot is being prepared for commercial use.
A commissioner asked if that project would help the village's tax base; staff clarified that the RJW Logistics project is separate from the Caterpillar development and described it as a Montgomery project. No fiscal impact numbers were presented in the meeting.
