Public works staff outlined the North Hill Elementary Walkway project and related funding. “This 1 we've been working on for quite some time, and this is the North Hill Elementary Walkway,” the staff member said, and explained the project includes driver-feedback signs and pedestrian-safety elements; design costs are about $450,000 and total construction is estimated at roughly $6,000,000. Staff noted one grant cycle remains to be secured and construction timing depends on final designs and grant results.
Staff also described a Redondo-area stormwater project fully funded by the stormwater utility at about $1,200,000 to replace undersized pipes and prevent overflow during high events. On the related 200th Street project, legal staff confirmed one parcel remains to be acquired; the city has filed suit in superior court and cannot start construction until the right-of-way is secured.
