Marina upgrades in focus: docks, seawall and new restrooms proposed

Harbour Master Scott Wilkins presented three marina projects staff recommend advancing. “The Redondo Redondo Boarding Float Replacement Phase 2, this is to replace the north side boarding floats,” Wilkins said, explaining the floats were removed earlier for safety and the project has RCO grant support and pending permits.
Wilkins described seawall replacement work to remove creosote sheet pile, install new sheet pile and pile caps, rebuild sidewalks and pedestrian amenities, and noted the seawall ties to broader pedestrian and bulkhead improvements. He also outlined plans to remove an old cinder-block tenant restroom and replace it with four upgraded tenant restrooms, add two public restrooms and present a construction contract to council in coming weeks. Wilkins said cultural-resource monitoring plans are arriving imminently and will allow staff to complete permitting and put the boarding-float project out to bid.
