The Henderson City Council approved a site plan for a Veterans Memorial to be installed in front of the police department and set a tentative installation date of June 25, 2026, with a July 4 celebration at 10 a.m.
Manager Spruill said developer/designer Hartwell Wright was finalizing the memorial work and the Council approved Resolution 26‑28 to proceed. Council also unanimously adopted Resolution 26‑30 reaffirming the city’s participation in the Tar River Hazard Mitigation Plan, last revised in 2021; Fire Chief Tim Twisdale explained that adoption is routine and required to preserve eligibility for federal disaster‑related funding.
Both actions were approved by recorded votes and referenced the applicable resolution books in the minutes.
