Board approves Class of 2025 trip to Washington State

The Shelter Island Union Free School District Board of Education voted to approve the Class of 2025 senior trip to Washington State, scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025 through Monday, June 2, 2025.
James Theinert, co-advisor for the Class of 2025, presented a sample itinerary and said the trip will cost “approximately $2,000 per student.” The class has about $8,000 on hand and will continue fundraising; Theinert and co-advisor Erin Mulrain will chaperone the trip, and the class will seek a third chaperone if more than 10 students participate. The board approved the trip by motion.
