Seward highway superintendent reports equipment repairs and board forms committee on shale-bank reclamation

Highway Superintendent Tony Kulesza told the Board several equipment and maintenance items were completed or in progress, including that "the plumber relocated the counter to the Seward sewer system, which appears to be functioning better," the loader has been repaired and returned to the shop, tires were installed on a town pickup and a rearend for a truck was located.
Separately, the Board retained engineering firm Barton & Loguidice to assist with renewing the shale bank mining permit and unanimously authorized a committee "to gather facts as to when the shale bank started and in what areas shale was taken, work on getting in writing from NYS D.E.C. the outline for the reclamation process, and begin the reclamation process." A title search was also identified as needed for the Town property on West Richmondville Road.
