Resident questions delay on skating rink, raises parking-lot plowing concerns

During public comment, resident Ray Krebski of 326 Sheryl Road asked why the skating rink work that had been previously mentioned did not proceed and raised complaints about how private parking lots were prioritized during recent snow events.
"About a month ago, you mentioned the skating rink was gonna start to be done and stuff, and then nothing ever happened," Krebski said. He also asked how plowing priorities for parking lots are determined after streets are cleared.
Staff responded that street plowing and critical municipal routes take precedence and that available personnel are assigned to those tasks; staff invited Krebski to provide a specific date and time of a problematic event so staff could investigate with the public-safety and DPW chiefs. Staff reiterated that the city will continue business as usual this plowing season while working on a registry and other longer-term solutions.
The commission did not take action on the skating rink timeline at the meeting; staff said they would follow up on specific incidents provided by residents.
