"We were awarded funding through the swims program, dollars 2,600,000 to basically redo the Glover Pool Complex," staff said. The award is a reimbursement grant with an 80/20 split; staff estimated the city's share at about $650,000 and said the city will likely need to borrow to pay costs up front and then file for reimbursement as work proceeds. Staff said a grant disbursement agreement (GDA) from the state was expected in roughly 10 days and that the commission would later decide whether to move the grant forward once additional project particulars are available.
Staff also described the implementation pathway: engineers will develop the scope within the grant's intended purposes, there will be a public input portion, and staff will return with recommendations once initial design and financing details are clearer. The commission did not take a final action on the grant at the meeting; staff framed this as preparatory work pending receipt of the GDA.
