4‑H educator reports strong participation ahead of South Dakota State Fair

Jody, Codington County's 4‑H educator, told the board that achievement days ran successfully with large participation across companion animal, poultry and rabbit shows, and thanked volunteers and judges.
"We have a large amount of animals," Jody said, and noted the South Dakota State Fair is scheduled Sept. 2–7 with results to be posted on extension.sdstate.edu. Jody introduced 4‑H member James Conkey, who said public speaking in 4‑H helped him develop self‑confidence and prepared him for future presentations.
The report was presented as part of the board's routine monthly updates; commissioners thanked Jody and the volunteers for their work with youth programming.
