Summary
Board members prioritized site plan review ahead of wetlands code revisions, expecting planning board attorney edits before site plan material returns to the town board and a wetlands review to start in February or March.

The board discussed moving site plan review forward because it is needed to clear planning-board backlog and because the planning board's attorney is preparing revisions. Committee member (S3) said site plan review needs to reach the town board once the attorney returns edits; wetlands code revision is also on the planning board calendar and the board expects it to return for review by March at the latest.
"So planning board should have wrapped up with that at the last meeting... we're waiting for their attorney to send us the revisions that they made, and then, site plan review will come to the town board for us to go over," S3 said. Members agreed clearer handoffs and code language will ease future implementation and discussed liaison roles to ensure committees have clear mission statements and expectations.
S3 and S6 emphasized drafting code that reduces discretionary outcomes, particularly for wetlands, to create clearer procedures for the planning board to follow. The board did not adopt amendments during the work session; it discussed timing and procedural handoffs to ensure a smoother transition to public hearings and planning-board review.
