At its July 16 meeting the Lysander Town Board approved a range of routine but community-facing items. The board waived the pyro permit fee for the Founder’s Day Celebration at Radisson on Aug. 15 (RES#134/2026) and authorized the Supervisor to sign the Life Worth Living 5K & Walk special-event license for Aug. 16 (RES#140/2026). The board also authorized the Town Clerk’s Office to collect voluntary animal-shelter donations for Helping Hounds Dog Rescue pursuant to Agriculture and Markets Law §109(1)(c) and to create a ‘Shelter Donations’ account for annual remittance to the shelter (RES#135/136/2026).
Additionally, the board authorized ARPA-funded vehicle purchases — a 2026 Ford Maverick XLT at $31,347.50 (RES#137/2026) and two 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazers at $53,677.60 total (RES#138/2026) — and appointed Charles Rinaldo as a Parks & Recreation summer aide at $18/hour (RES#139/2026). The board accepted resignations from Karen Rice (Planning, Zoning and Codes Clerk) effective July 31, 2026, and David Sitar (Highway laborer) effective July 9, 2026 (RES#141/142/2026). All motions passed unanimously.
