Granbury City Council voted to authorize an application for an electric-aircraft charging-infrastructure grant offered through the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the Regional Transportation Council.
Aviation director Cody Mathis said the pilot program aims to establish charging infrastructure at regional airports to support testing and eventual integration of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Mathis told council the call for projects values $1 million across the region and will reimburse up to $200,000 per airport; he said the Granbury Regional Airport’s estimated cost for the proposed installation is about $92,500. Council adopted resolution 26-11 to apply; staff said there is no local cost at application and that final installation would depend on grant selection.
