Council voted to award bid number 25-26-15 for the Lambert Branch Park improvements to A and D Paving LLC and authorized the city manager to execute the contract.
Internal service director Aaron McClain told council the project will connect existing sidewalks, add approximately 750 linear feet of six-foot sidewalks to create a loop connecting the hike-and-bike trail, and provide playground and pier-area enhancements for the lakefront park. McClain said the city received seven competitive proposals and planned to use cooperative purchasing and some in-house installation to reduce costs; the project is tied to a Texas Parks & Wildlife 1:1 matching grant (up to $300,000 total match mentioned to help fund amenities).
Council approved the motion to award the contract and authorize a project contingency; the motion carried unanimously (6-0).
