Granton school board approves routine fiscal and policy measures, hears preliminary budget

The Granton Area School District Board of Education approved routine fiscal and policy items at its July 14 regular meeting, including the payment of checks 47301–47397 and wire transfers 202400227–202400262 totaling $358,911.01.
"Motion to approve checks 47301-47397 and wire transfers 202400227-202400262 for $358,911.01," said Erica Bender when moving the measure; Mark Elmhorst seconded and the voice vote carried. The board also approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda, which included minutes from prior meetings and financial reports.
District Administrator Nancy Popp presented preliminary budget figures for 2025–26 and the board authorized operating expenditures pending final budget approval. "Mrs. Popp presented preliminary budget numbers for the 2025-26 school year," the minutes record. The authorization lets routine payments proceed while the board finalizes the budget.
The board also approved the 2025–26 Academic Standards and the Professional Development Plan. Board members said these approvals keep curriculum and staff development plans on schedule as staffing and budget details are finalized.
