Board accepts $10,000 in donations and approves services agreement with Southampton
Summary
The board approved a health and welfare services agreement with Southampton UFSD for 2024–25 and accepted two $5,000 donations—one from the Shelter Island Educational Foundation for music field trips and a $5,000 grant from GENYouth, Inc. for a milk dispenser—adding the funds to the corresponding budget lines.
The Shelter Island Board of Education approved a contract with Southampton Union Free School District for health and welfare services for the term Sept. 4, 2024–June 26, 2025 and authorized the board president to execute the agreement.
The board also accepted two $5,000 gifts: $5,000 from the Shelter Island Educational Foundation to underwrite the Broadway Field Trip and Master Music Field Trip and a $5,000 grant from GENYouth, Inc. to purchase a bulk milk dispenser for the cafeteria; both donations were authorized to be added to the indicated budget lines. Director Todd Gulluscio said the milk-dispenser grant responds to supply issues with small individual milk containers and thanked The Dairy Association and the New York Jets for support.
