Trustee Rossi-Snook will not seek re-election; visitors praise students and Board professionalism

At the March 10 meeting Trustee Katherine Rossi-Snook announced her term expires June 30, 2025 and that she has decided not to seek re-election. Board members, including President Kathleen Lynch, thanked Rossi-Snook for her service.
During visitor comments Julie Lane, reporter for The Reporter, praised the district’s tenth-grade students after observing a mock-interview event, saying Shelter Island students were "1,000x more ready for the real world than any of the other students" she saw from other districts. Shelter Island Town Councilman Gordon Gooding told the Board he found their meetings professionally run and said he planned to borrow ideas for town meetings. The Board adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
