Board approves finance reports and adjusts adult cafeteria prices under CEP
Summary
The Board accepted July financial reports, approved budget transfers/journal entries and, under the Community Eligible Provision, changed adult breakfast to $2.95 (from $3.75) and adult lunch to $5.25 (from $4.51) for 2024–25; cafeteria sales rose sharply year over year in early September.
The board accepted the Treasurer’s Report, appropriation and revenue reports and auditor documents for July and authorized budget transfers and journal entries for Aug. 20–Sept. 10, 2024.
As part of finance items, the board approved adult cafeteria meal price adjustments required under the Community Eligible Provision: breakfast reduced from $3.75 to $2.95 and lunch changed from $4.51 to $5.25 for the 2024–25 school year. Director Todd Gulluscio reported cafeteria participation had increased markedly in the first week of school—meals rose from 227 in the first week of 2023 to 714 in the first week of 2024—and said feedback on the new food service had been overwhelmingly positive.
The motion to accept finance items 11.1–11.3 carried unanimously.
