Superintendent Dr. Brian Doelger introduced the Shelter Island Union Free School District’s 2025–26 budget presentation, outlining accomplishments, the budget formation process, levy and budget increase percentages from 2019–2025, revenue projections and next steps. The presentation listed the district’s programmatic accomplishments and asked whether the district would need to pierce the property tax cap in the coming year.
Dr. Doelger opened the floor to questions at the end of the presentation; none were offered. The presentation served as an informational step in the budget process ahead of public hearings and the May 20, 2025 budget vote. School officials said the budget process will continue with additional review and next-step meetings before final adoption.
