Shelter Island officials sworn in as board begins 2026 term

"I'm very excited about this year," Amber Brock Williams said after the ceremony, telling the audience she expects the board to "get a lot done" and to work together. Justice Mary Faith Westervelt administered oaths to a slate of officials and staff, including council members and the town clerk, as the board completed its formal starts-of-term procedures.
The ceremony included public recognition of county officials in the audience and brief remarks of thanks by the supervisor. After the oaths the board moved directly into adopting its calendar of meetings and a series of routine resolutions and appointments for 2026.
