At its Dec. 16 meeting, the Grundy Center City Council approved Resolution 2024-73, awarding a three-year Sports Complex maintenance contract to Precision Lawn Care as recommended by the Park Board. The council first moved to return the resolution to the table (Smith moved, Mcdonald seconded) and then approved the contract (Kuester moved, Smith seconded). The vote was recorded as four ayes; Rasmussen was absent.
During discussion Kuester emphasized that the city’s upcoming 28E agreement with the Grundy Center Community Schools should match the maintenance contract timetable so expenses remain split equally with the school district. The resolution and approval were limited to the maintenance contract; changes to the 28E agreement will come separately when that agreement is negotiated or extended.
