Council schedules Dec. 2 public hearing on FY2025 budget amendment, Clerk lists expense changes

Mayor Paul Eberline opened discussion on publishing a public hearing notice for Dec. 2, 2024, for a fiscal year 2025 budget amendment. City Clerk Kristy Sawyer explained a range of items that have prompted the amendment: police department wage increases, workers' compensation, taxes and IPERS, uniform and training expenses for new officers, purchase of a street sweeper and a truck, a D&D property purchase and demolition, final payment for the Sports Complex and tennis court project, installation of security cameras for City Hall, and a pool painting project.
Councilmember Rasmussen moved and Mcdonald seconded action to publish the public hearing notice for Dec. 2, 2024; the motion carried on a 4–0 vote. The public hearing will provide opportunity for public comment before any budget adjustments are adopted.
