Wheaton approves purchase of three truck chassis and snowplow equipment totaling nearly $932,000

The City approved two related procurement resolutions on March 16. Resolution R‑2026‑20 authorizes the purchase of three 2027 Freightliner 108SD Plus chassis from TransChicago Truck Group under the State of Illinois joint purchase contract for a total amount not to exceed $381,180. City Manager Michael Dzugan said the chassis will replace three 12‑year‑old dump trucks already included in the 2026 replacement budget.
Council also adopted R‑2026‑21 to purchase snowplowing equipment and upfitting services from Henderson Products, Inc. through the National Purchasing Partners Cooperative for an amount not to exceed $550,530.36. Both resolutions carried on unanimous roll call votes.
