Representatives for regional disability services told the board they were wrapping up a governing-board meeting and that the region’s budget currently shows just over $1 million with roughly $640,000 in bills yet to be processed. Staff reported the shared mental-health advocate submitted an initial bill to the ASO and was reimbursed; they also said managed-care changes will allow jails to submit certain medication costs to the ASO for reimbursement beginning July 1.
The presenters described a possible 28E agreement with a DAP (disability access partnership) that would ask counties to sign and designate a county representative to sit on a regional governing board with oversight of personnel and grant approvals. Board members asked whether the position would be funded or an extra duty; staff said it would likely be an additional duty, not a funded position. Supervisors asked staff to invite DAP leadership or Julie Davis (the DAP lead) to attend a board meeting to answer questions before the board considers signing any agreement.
