On customer impact, Morton said utility cutovers will cause temporary outages and that Evergy has a notification process for affected customers: "But I think the standard is between 4 and 6 hours when they cut them over because they leave the old stuff live until they power up the new ones." Staff said additional easements are expected to appear in September and that relocation work will begin after easements are acquired and coordination is complete.
Committee members asked about bridge condition ratings and whether canopy pruning would be included; staff replied Evergy maintains its overhead lines and the city will perform invasive creek excavation work requiring separate coordination.
