Warner official: state sent final FEMA floodplain approval; ordinance update due Nov. 13

Select Board member and town participant Ed Mical reported that he contacted the State Office of Planning and Development about Warner's FEMA floodplain study. Mical said the state issued a final approval letter on May 13, 2026, and that the town has until November 13, 2026 to update its floodplain map references and related ordinances.
Mical told the board he provided the state with Warner’s floodplain development ordinance, site-plan regulations and subdivision regulations and that, while the ordinance is currently compliant, the Select Board will need to act to revise map dates and incorporate the new study. He cited RSA 674:57 as the statutory authority that allows the Select Board to change the ordinance relative to the map and study. Mical asked to meet with the Select Board in August to review recommended revisions; he also said the Planning Board will need to amend site-plan regulations to match the change.
No vote was taken; the board acknowledged the November deadline and agreed to schedule further review.
