At the Select Board meeting on July 28, Herm Blanchette reported that InsureCom has received a check related to the highway garage insurance claim and will begin paying contractors. Blanchette told the board siding and roofing work is expected to start in the coming weeks and that the contractor has indicated the work will be done by the end of October 2026.
Blanchette also said repairs on large trucks have progressed slowly; one of two trucks ordered from Hillsboro Ford has arrived and the other remains in repair. He expressed frustration that the vendor cannot work on two trucks simultaneously and warned about implications for winter readiness. Chair Alfred Hanson and other board members expressed concern and agreed to monitor equipment availability.
The board did not vote on additional funds for truck repairs during the meeting; Blanchette said he has a meeting the following day to discuss outstanding repair work with contractors and insurers.
