Water-plant expansion remains on schedule; phase 2 filter building expected complete next July

Staff reported that below-slab piping and duct-bank work are progressing and that the phase 2 filter-process building construction is estimated to be complete in July of next year, with start-up and performance testing planned for August–September.
Rick Schaeffer updated the board on the water-plant expansion and reported that most below-slab piping for the new filter process building has been completed. He said duct-bank and subgrade foundation work will be finished in October, the slab foundation should be placed in November and filter equipment is expected by year-end.
Schafer said phase 2 construction of the filter process building is "estimated for completion in July of next year with start up in in August and then performance testing in August and September." He also noted new pumps and intake structure design changes that will allow the plant to access a larger portion of the lake's water if ever needed in a long-term drought emergency, while confirming the board's lake operating policy would govern any drawdown decisions.
Staff reported contractor performance is on schedule and within budget for the work presented; future guaranteed-maximum-price items and construction contracts will be brought back to the board as those elements are finalized.
