Minden Public Schools’ Board of Education approved a set of district handbooks for the 2025–26 school year during a July 29 board retreat at Minden High School. The motion to approve the preschool, East Elementary, C.L. Jones Middle School, Minden High School and staff handbooks was made by board member Cody Krull, seconded by Andy Craig and passed by a 5–0 vote with one member absent.
The meeting packet signed into the record notes the Perry Law Firm reviewed the handbooks and that changes are largely legal updates and alignment edits across campuses. District materials attached to the agenda highlight minor grammatical edits, updated policy links and changes to student and staff procedures such as cell-phone and electronic-device rules, safety and surveillance provisions, and clarifications on attendance and disciplinary processes. The packet also points parents and staff to the online handbook on the district website and requests signed receipts be returned to the principal’s office by Aug. 25, 2025.
Board members said the changes reflected routine annual updates and legal review; no roll-call debate on individual handbook provisions is recorded in the minutes. With the vote, the district will publish the approved handbooks online and distribute guidance on how families can confirm receipt or request paper copies.
