Aliza said work by Mercier Carpet was underway to complete flooring work between this week and next.
Aliza also listed key school-year dates: new teacher orientation at Hampshire Regional on Aug. 24, staff begin Aug. 26, kindergarten visitation and bus orientation on Aug. 26, K'6 start on Aug. 27, preschool starting Sept. 2, and an ice-cream social scheduled for Sept. 2 (rain date Sept. 3). She noted recent staff hires to replace retirees and that one teacher (Mrs. Lukasiewicz) had resigned effective Aug. 17; the position has been posted.
The principal characterized the extended-year special-education and tutoring work as focused on preventing regression and reported positive feedback from teachers and families.
