The Red Oak Independent School District Board of Trustees voted 7–0 on Jan. 27 to approve two orders calling a bond election and a general trustee election for May 3, 2025. The motion to call the bond election was made by Brian Sebring and seconded by Johnny Knight; the motion to call the trustee election was made by Johnny Knight and seconded by Michelle Porter.
Superintendent Brenda Sanford and district staff framed the action as a procedural step to place a proposed bond measure and trustee contests on the May ballot; the transcript shows members of the public later spoke in open forum in support of the proposed bond. The board did not provide details of the bond package in the meeting record. The district plans next steps required by election law and will publish election notices and candidate filing information ahead of the May 3 date.
