The Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education completed its 2026 organizational business at a meeting Jan. 7 in the Mason Senior High School Library, electing board officers and approving a revised agenda.
President Otting was nominated by Rachel England and confirmed by roll call (Waller: Yes; Fowler: Absent; Otting: Abstain; England: Yes; Nehrig: Yes), with the motion recorded as carried 3-0. Nehrig nominated Waller for vice-president; the roll-call vote recorded Waller abstaining and Otting and England voting Yes, with the motion carried 3-0. England nominated Fowler as treasurer; the roll call produced a 4-0 result in favor. Nehrig nominated England for secretary; that motion carried 3-0 with England recorded as abstaining on her own nomination.
The board removed Student Accolades from the recognition section and, on a motion by England supported by Waller, approved the revised agenda (motion carried 5-0). President Otting read Policy 2302, the Board Code of Ethics, as a reminder to members before substantive business began.
The roll-call vote details and motion outcomes were recorded in the minutes for transparency and public record.
