The council discussed and adopted the proposed fiscal-year meeting schedule. After conversation about holiday timing and citizen accessibility, Councilman Williams moved (and the motion was seconded and amended by majority agreement) to have two meetings in July and December and one meeting in November; staff will publish the detailed calendar and coordinate municipal utility board dates.
Staff noted the policy manual and past practice and said special meetings remain an option if needed under state posting requirements. Councilmembers traded views about maintaining availability to citizens versus limiting the number of meetings; the motion carried and staff will bring finalized dates back to the council for posting.
