Red Oak ISD board recognizes students, arts and athletics at Dec. 16 meeting

The Red Oak Independent School District Board of Trustees opened its Dec. 16 meeting with a series of recognitions for student and extracurricular achievement. Karen Anderson of the Red Oak ISD Education Foundation presented a grant check and the board acknowledged winners of the district's 17th Annual Christmas Card Art Competition.
Board members also recognized Red Oak High School performing arts and athletics programs. Band Director Justin Wood, Choir Director Cassie Arrington and Theatre Director Jericho Thomas were acknowledged alongside coaches Bryan Reed (cross country), Melvin Robinson (varsity football) and Hope Porter (varsity volleyball). Superintendent Brenda Sanford and trustees commended students and staff for recent performances and season results.
