ECAHF plans Family Fly-In Aug. 14; volunteers and sponsors remain top priorities

The Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation Development Committee reviewed logistics for the Family Fly-In scheduled Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Committee members discussed entertainment offers, including magician Brian Sanders at a discounted rate of $1,800, and concluded that hiring higher-cost entertainment would be feasible only if a sponsor could be secured.
Staff reported the DD Form 2536 request that would enable military participation remains pending, and committee members listed confirmed or anticipated organizations including FRC East, Havelock Fire and Rescue, Craven Community College, the Havelock Police Department, Civil Air Patrol and parachute activities. The Havelock Chamber of Commerce will host a table and provide door prizes; the Havelock Parks and Recreation Department will also have a table to collect public input on its master planning process. The committee identified volunteers as the primary need and asked members to help with recruitment and sponsor follow-up; additional flyers will be available at the next Board meeting for distribution.
