Several parents and community members used the public-comment period to press the board for clearer, school-by-school accounting of categorical spending and how special-education and Medi-Cal reimbursements are being used.
Jen Souza requested the district "Publish the full staffing list for every school. Teachers, aids, and specialists. And do it by August 1. Update families weekly until every position is filled," and said she wanted clear periodic service-minute reports so families can verify IEP compliance. Satya Gokhanatsu alleged the district receives Medi-Cal reimbursements and administrative-claim funds for special-education services and asked the board to investigate whether those funds are being reinvested into the students who generate them. Trustees acknowledged the concerns and said staff would follow up; no specific auditing or reporting policy was adopted during the meeting.
