District staff presented updates to several time-limited grant programs (Access Grant, Learning Loss Mitigation, Arts/Music/Instructional Materials block and LREBG) and outlined how remaining funds will be used through their expiration dates. Staff explained many of the grants are one-time allocations that must be expended by mid-2026 or 2028 and described targeted uses including tutoring, coaching, assessment platforms (IXL and iReady), library updates and a forthcoming math-adoption plan.
As part of the plan updates, trustees approved staffing requests supported by grant funds: two Teachers on Special Assignment focusing on early-literacy intervention and additional assistant-principal positions at Witter Ranch (as it adds 6th grade) and Heredia Arriaga (as it expands to K–8). Angela Herrera framed the presentation as a summary of uses and timelines; trustees moved to approve the updates and staffing recommendations and the motion passed unanimously.
