Angela Herrera, the district CAO, explained that the district must hold a public hearing within 60 days of receiving a renewal petition and that a second hearing and staff/legal review will occur at an April meeting ahead of the Board’s action.
Executive Director and Principal Colleen Perry presented highlights from the petition, noting the school’s establishment in 2012, its current grade span and enrollment growth, and academic indicators the petition cited (including a stated graduation rate of 100% since 2017 and improvements on last year’s CAST). Perry said the petition includes a three-year cash-flow projection showing positive balances. The Board heard no public comments on the item; trustee Mora moved to close the hearing, Mehta seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The district will return recommendations at the April meeting after legal review.
