Lighted Tractor Parade set for Dec. 13; police to staff GCS spirit walk Sept. 18

Granville's Lighted Tractor Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13 at 5:30 p.m., officials told the Village Board on Sept. 8. Krystle Morey, co-chair of the event, said registration will open in 30–45 days and that organizers anticipate "some 60-70 entries" and expected attendance in the 6,000–8,000 range based on prior years.
The board thanked organizers and Trustee Paul Garrone, who serves as co‑chair, for their work on the event that helps kick off the holiday season. Separately, Granville Central School officials notified the village that a Spirit Walk will precede the bonfire on Thursday, Sept. 18, beginning at the high school parking lot and proceeding along Potter Avenue to Telescope Parking Lot. Police Chief Ernie Bassett told the board that coverage "should not be an issue," and the board expressed support for police staffing to ensure public-safety coverage.
Organizers were told to proceed with registration plans; the board did not object to the planned routes or dates.
