City Manager presented the tax calculation worksheets required under Texas law and described the components of the proposed tax rate of 0.590925 per $100 of assessed value, split into maintenance & operations and interest & sinking portions. The manager referenced compliance with Texas Tax Code sections and the deadlines for submitting the no‑new‑revenue and voter‑approval rates to council.
The manager cited the certified taxable value received from the Dallas Central Appraisal District and the city’s calculated rates: the proposed overall rate of 0.590925 per $100 (with an interest & sinking component of 0.178632) and staff noted they were slightly below the voter‑approval rate. "We are slightly below the voter approval rate, and our no new revenue rate would be 55¢," the manager said. Council moved and seconded to acknowledge receipt of the worksheets and the acknowledgment was approved by voice vote. Staff said the city must submit the official no‑new‑revenue and voter‑approval calculations by Aug. 7 and reminded council of the public hearings and adoption timeline.
