Pedro Alaniz then presented the tax rate and accompanying ordinance; Jaime Escobar moved to approve the tax rate ordinance, seconded by Karina Mascorro, and the motion carried (6-0). The board recorded the public presentation time and the formal motions in the minutes.
The adoption finalizes the district's spending plan and the tax ordinance for the coming fiscal year. The district also disclosed that the public meeting tied to the budget and tax rate took place in open session between 6:51 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Aug. 27.
