The Roma Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted the 2025–2026 budget and approved the accompanying tax rate ordinance at its Aug. 27 regular meeting. Pedro Alaniz presented the budget during a public meeting that opened at 6:51 p.m. and concluded at 7:00 p.m.; following the presentation the board approved the measures.
Mary Lou G. Cruz moved to adopt the 2025–2026 budget as presented; Iv Garza, Jr. seconded the motion and the board voted to carry it (6-0). Pedro Alaniz then presented the tax rate and accompanying ordinance; Jaime Escobar moved to approve the tax rate ordinance, seconded by Karina Mascorro, and the motion carried (6-0). The board recorded the public presentation time and the formal motions in the minutes.
The adoption finalizes the district's spending plan and the tax ordinance for the coming fiscal year. The district also disclosed that the public meeting tied to the budget and tax rate took place in open session between 6:51 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Aug. 27.
