Rockdale ISD trustees sworn in; leadership nominations unchanged in unanimous vote

The Rockdale Independent School District Board of Trustees administered the Oath of Office to newly elected trustees and re-elected board officers at a workshop meeting on May 14, 2025.
Dyan Shelander, Notary Public, administered the oath to Amy Ogea Casas (Place 3), Charles Miles (Place 4) and Scott Heintze (Place 5). After taking the oath the newly elected trustees were seated with the Board. Superintendent Dr. Denise Monzingo then presided over the board reorganization.
A motion by Julia Cardona, seconded by Amy Casas, to leave board officer nominations unchanged carried 7-0. As a result, Charles Miles was elected President of the Board of Trustees, Jason Barcak was elected Vice President, and Amy Casas was elected Secretary.
The Board recorded the 7-0 result as: "Motion carried (7-0)." The reorganization will govern officer roles for the coming year until the next reorganization.
